The term "Allahu Akbar" is an everyday phrase used in the Islamic religion meant to give praise to Allah, however, it has been demonized in the media in recent history due to attacks carried out by people... people which do not represent a religion as a whole. This spawns an irrational fear and hatred towards one group when the phrase is spoken in prayer — Muslims. It has gone as far as people being cited on multiple occasions throughout the world for saying the phrase out loud. However, the term "Allahu Akbar" simply means "God is the greatest" and is usually said in greeting or at the start of prayer in the Islamic religion. It is an everyday phrase, no different than a Christian saying "Amen" at the end of a prayer. Therefore, the term has absolutely no political or violent connotation and does not merit instant terror diagnosis. We wanted to bring attention to this issue by decorating our layered Coexist clasp-closure thermal shirt with the phrase as a way to shed light and provide an opportunity to educate people on this matter.
Furthermore, 25% of proceeds from the layered Coexist clasp-closure thermal longsleeve will be donated directly to the Give-A-Little fund set up to help the victims of the recent Christchurch, New Zealand shootings.
